About Me

For the love of Motorsports!

I’m Jessy Lucena, an amateur road racer., car enthusiast and advocate of all things motorsports. If you are a motorsport enthusiast who shares my "Exhaust..ing" passion of the sport, join me on my journey as I explore pro-racing and everything involved with it, learn from my mistakes and success stories and continue to build my first race car! This is also a great place to get connected with great shops and people that are helping me along the way. Please see my “sponsors” page for referrals and stories about their support.

Perfect Timing

If you’ve been following me since last year, here's the recap: My 2012 Boss-302 and I started this journey in 2013 trying a hand at autocross. Many modifications later, The Boss and I were ready to UP the RPM’s and take it to the race circuit!

I picked the most challenging year to get started, 2020 brought COVID amongst other disasters and with that, many new challenges for all of us, our lifestyles took a 180 turn! However, I was committed to do this road race thing and  once my mind was made up,  there was no stopping me.

My first race was in May of 2020; of course, being in the Pacific Northwest, there was a good chance of rain. My car still had a full autocross set up; wrong shocks, wrong sway bars, a bad tune, crusty old tires, wrong brakes (which I found out the hard way later that weekend, see the blog for that story)., I think they call it racing on a budget.?

The goal was to just get the required number of novice races under my belt, and into a full racing license as soon as possible.

Check out My BLOG for a summary of my 2020 Car Build into touring class and my continued journey through this madness that is the world of motorsports.
